This blog is not only about dogs (hence the name). It is about animals of all kinds from horses to bears to elephants to giraffes. Well it’s mostly about dogs, cats, birds and other domesticated animals but you’ll occasionally find an odd story about wildlife. If it’s got anything to do with animals then I’ll probably write about it here.
Here you can also read about animals that are up for adoption, animals that are lost, animals that are found and just about any odd story that has to do with animals.
Did I mention that this is about animals? heheh!!

Hi Simone,
I wasn’t sure how else to get in contact with you so I hope it is okay for me to e-mail you here. I am writing to you on behalf of America’s Family Pet Expo, returning to the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, April 17-19, 2009.
This family friendly event could be of interest to your blog readers with all the animal entertainment they can obtain at an affordable price! America’s Family Pet Expo is the world’s largest pet and pet product expo, hosted by the World Wide Pet Industry Association (a non-profit organization), and we are celebrating our 20th year. Tillman, the skateboarding bulldog, along with Westminster’s 2009 Best in Show winner Stump will be on hand, along with performances by IAMS Superdogs and Hollywood Cats presented by Critters of the Cinema.
Dozens of local adoption agencies and rescue organizations will be onsite helping animals find forever homes such as SOAR-Stray & Orphaned Animal Rescue from San Bernardino, Old English Sheepdog Rescue from Santa Monica, Cats In Need from Long Beach, and Mutts N’ Stuff Small Dog Rescue from Rancho Cucamonga.
Last year over 520 pets were adopted! This year is an especially critical year for shelter groups, as they have seen an increase in animals abandoned or surrendered by home owners no longer able to care for them. With Southern California leading the nation in home foreclosures, local shelter groups are relying on the presence of potential pet owners at this year’s Pet Expo to help ease overcrowding at local shelters.
One thing that will be different this year is that on behalf of Toyota, the local media will have an exclusive chance to preview the 2009 Venza at the Expo, April 17th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This is not open to the public, only the media and dog breeder groups will be able to attend. The Venza is Toyota’s new, pet friendly vehicle and those invited will learn about responsible pet automobile safety with members of Toyota’s design team. There will be two Venzas on-site to explore the car’s useful features which include a rear hatch pet ramp, booster seat with harness, hammock-style waterproof seat covers, pet buckles and rear seat zipline-style harnesses. This is a great car, even for those without pets, since it is the first Toyota passenger car to offer Star Safety as standard equipment for all models.
If you need a media credential or have any questions, please let me know and I will send you the application right over. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hi Liz!
Thank you for the information! I’ll put this in my calendar. I may even come down. Even though it’s in Costa Mesa and not in the Valley it’s a great event!
